Jászkisér – where the Great Hungarian Plain meets the water
When most of us think of the Great Hungarian Plain, we picture endless flatlands, grain fields, and a horizon stretching far into the distance.
Yet this landscape has another face too: the world of water.
Here, on the outskirts of Jászkisér, in the heart of the Great Plain, lies the Borbély Fish Farm. Our lakes are special islands within the flat landscape: homes for our fish, resting and feeding grounds for birds, and part of a farming culture that has lived alongside nature for generations.
